OPERATION: BLESSING IN THE PARK! and outreach ministry highlights .....

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

We  have spent much of July and August engaging and ministering to families in the Tucson area.  We found ourselves needing to shift our focus from the homeless, to helping many families to buy food, pay utilities, diapers, formula for babies... As a result, it was necessary to postpone our outreach and baptism service  in the park, scheduled for July 26th. We were sad for this, but keeping mommies and babies fed and housed had to become our priority.

In this tough economic downturn, families are struggling with even the most basic necessities. Many of these families, like so many we all know, are suffering from job lay-offs, cut-backs, and loss of hours, coupled with the rising cost of living, and the avalanche of effects- less money to eat, pay bills, care for children, Dr. Visits, loss of insurance benefits, etc.  To a family just barely making it, or not even making it, losing the income, or any portion of it, unleashes catastrophic consequences. Some of these families have to chose between food for the babies, or the adults. Seems like a simple question, doesn't it? WAIT! Let's repeat that question. Choose between food for the babies, or the adults? In America? in Tucson?- WOW! (there are some who are having a hard time choosing between going to Disney Land, or Aruba, or the difficulty choosing between all the restaurants to eat out at, because we've eaten out so often, it is no longer a treat, but a burden to decide where to drop $40,$50, $60 for a dinner for two- while some sit hungry, in hot one-room apartments, or, are homeless).  We have so many shoes, and so much clothes, we can't and dont wear half of what we have. So many shoes, (while some have none), some worn once, and then lost in the abyss of shoes. Toys our children never play with, bicycles they never ride- but we keep, and gather, and accumulate- then we need a bigger house, spending even more finances on an illusion- all the while, we could clean it out, and find countless square feet, right where we live...  Mercy, Grace and Truth Ministries GIVES for FREE to those in need, and your financial donations help us to clean, repair, and deliver these goods, as well as support and under-gird our citizen's and neighbors economic conditions.

We are told, - no, we are instructed- no, we are commanded in scripture to love our neighbors, as ourselves. We are repeatedly told of the Lords command- as a common thread throughout the old and the new testament-, to care for the widow, the orphan, the poor, and the stranger. We are told in James 1:27 that The Lord considers "Pure religion.... is to visit the fatherless (orphans, foster children, etc.), and the widow in their afflictions...". (that means caring, providing and supporting them, christian or not, sinner or saint. Jesus fed, healed, delivered and loved ALL-  we are to demonstrate and walk in the same love, "Let you light so shine before men, that they would see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven."Matt 5:16, not bible-thump, and extort unbelievers- that is not the HOLY SPIRIT leading men to repentance, but rather men seeking glory.). We are told not to shut up our "bowels of compassion" when we see our brother has a need. We are told to live our lives, a living sacrifice- which is our "REASONABLE" service...".(Romans 12:1) Well, I am not going to to spend a lot more time on this- I believe it speaks for and of itself.

Cry aloud, and repent to the Lord for mercy. Cry aloud for forgiveness for our pride, our hard-heartedness, our sin, for our cutting  others down to exalt and build ourselves up, for our lack of true Christ-love, that would lead us to realize that it is [we are] HIS church, it is [we are] HIS flock, that it would cause us to call other pastors, and leaders, brothers and sisters - "and ask how can we serve you?".  Call them together to love together, to pray together, to work together, break bread together, to fellowship, ministering to one another, (and lead our congregations into the same maturity of the faith), and as Ephesians 4 states, "...For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:  Till we all come into the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:". No divisions, no schisms.

We need to stand together, and declare war on the enemy. He has been very successful - to this point - at separating us, and keeping us divided. We must stop giving the enemy room [and permission by our own pride and disobedience], to work in our hearts, our minds, our churches, our families, our country and our world!  Who is willing to lead the way to bring this unity to our church and our community? Who is willing to humble themselves, and weep and howl for our own sins, and cry aloud that the Father would send the Holy Spirit Fire down to burn up these alters and idols we have built, (dead-works, boasting big numbers, -instead of quality disciples - and titles, etc.), so that we can see the real Christ manifested in and through us?

           2nd Chronicles 7:13-15

We have been grafted into the vine. "We are Jews inwardly, not of the circumcision of the flesh, but of the heart.....

" And they shall know you are my disciples by the  " **** " you have, one for another...."  "Love" and "hate" both have 4 letters.
Which are you filling the blanks with?
And who's disciples would that make you.....???

Repent and Cry to the Lord. Then, find a pastor, or a another believer, and extend the right hand of fellowship to them. Get to know them. Start building/repairing the relationships and friendships that the enemy, that devil, has stolen, destroyed, or prevented. Stop letting the devil drag, [or lead], your brothers and sisters away from the body of Christ, or causing church splits.  Stop letting the devil drag your children, friends, co-workers, and family members into the darkness, and into an eternity without the Lord- wage war on the devil, -together, united, - SERVE ONE ANOTHER, and SERVE GOD- start living a life of sacrificial giving, supporting ministries that are making a difference, and dwindling satan's kingdom- Exalt Our Lord Jesus Christ, and  HIM ALONE!! Let the world know you are HIS disciple's!

Father, I pray you
"0pen our understanding that we may perceive the scriptures.",  and that you would release the Holy Spirit to minister and reveal your will, truth and love, and bring the fire into the hearts and lives of every pastor, leader, and believer, and burn with an unquenchable fire everything that is not of you. Everything that seeks it's/his/her own. Everything that seeks to exalt itself above the knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Leave only that which is of you, and from you, and use the ashes to fertilize the ground that you will break up and till. Permit that we can bring forth your harvest. Shape our hearts and our motives so that they only glorify you, and exalt you, and magnify the greatness of your name. We bow our hearts to you, and ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ! amen.

Mercy, Grace, and Truth,
Pastor Paz

Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him."1 Corinthians 2:9

Words are difficult, to find, express, and describe, what this day's ministry revealed.

Today we saw one of the most incredible examples of what it means to reap the harvest for our Lord Jesus Christ. It almost seemed like the "fruit" was jumping off the vine, into our baskets!!

Here are just a few examples of what the Lord did today.....

After last months awesome outreach, and in our seeking the Lord for the plans for June's outreach,  it began to  become clear that the Lord would not have us to go forth in the usual grand display of our self prepared catered and BBQ foods, and extravagant free drawings. As we waited patiently, the Lord gently impressed, "walk the fields, check the fruit". While we began to understand that we would be walking the rows of the gardens we had been planting and tending,  we were pleasantly surprised by what we would discover.

Prepared with our carry bags of bibles, gospel tracts, toothbrush/pastes kits, sunscreen lotions, lip balms, and the newest "favorite"- the sombrero's,  we set  out to engage in the one-on-one ministry, in the areas of Tucson which we have been ministering in, and with all those who frequent our park outreach events.

From the moment we hit the streets, we encountered soul after soul, in quiet desperation for the help, hope and healing, that can only be found in our Lord Jesus Christ.

While "en route" to make a drop off, to one of the facilities we have been supporting with food deliveries, we saw a man in a wheelchair. This sad soul, crippled from the Vietnam war, and withered by life's harshness, sat begging with his one hand at the exit of a strip mall driveway. Moved by compassion, we were caused  to stop- and at the very least-, offer a sombrero, to shield him from the blistering Arizona sun. His name was "Red", and he was hungry. Rather than give him the money he sought, we offered a hot meal from the restaurant across the way. When we returned with his hot n'juicy loaded cheeseburger, we offered the sombrero, the meal and prayer. He refused the gospel tract, but, then changed his mind, and accepted it, placing it in his shirt pocket.
As we turned to walk away, we noticed there were two more people, paying close attention to our actions, and approached us for money, and a hat! Knowing the need was greater than for a hat, we inquired regarding their relationship with Jesus. "I am going to Hell, that much I know", said "T". "I am going to hell, but maybe you can say a prayer for my fiance and her son, (which may have been actually passed on at this point, as we learned later that a "fiance and son" were dead), that I can trade my soul, so they can go to heaven." WHAT? (We couldn't believe what we were hearing. But, what an open door for sharing the "GOOD NEWS" with someone!).

During the next 45 minutes of ministering to him, we learned of his 17 confirmed kills in the Vietnam war. He said he was a "murderer", and there was no way God could forgive him for what he had done. This was "T 's" confession, and he repeated is several times while we spoke with him. Also keeping him buried under the weight of the guilt, shame and the condemnation of the devil, was his 2 prison terms, sexual relations with women, and men.  He began to break, and as the the tears welled up, we could see he was throwing the rope for someone to grab hold of and pull him from this storm that was devouring him, and pull him to the peaceful shore. As he began to dump out all the reasons why he didn't deserve forgiveness, and why he deserved hell, we began consoling him with the love of God, and assuring him that was exactly WHY the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST is called the GOOD NEWS! We told him that none of us deserved forgiveness,  and all of us deserved everlasting punishment for our sins, our selfishness, and our rebellion against God. We told him of Romans 5:8, that "God shows HIS love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." While were "YET", or still committing sin, while we were still rejecting, and rebelling against God,-while we were still acting religious, or trying to  earn salvation,- Jesus Christ died for us. Jesus didn't require us to be clean, holy or righteous first, but He came to die for our sins, and "pave" the pathway back to the Father, with His own blood.

"T" repented, and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior, and smiled. He was forgiven, and free.

During this time of ministry, "Red", had wheeled himself over to where we were, and I watched as he gave half his cheeseburger to "Richard", who sat watching and listening while we ministered to "T".  Red also gave the gospel tract to Richard, and Richard sat reading it as we prayed with "T".

"T", Richard, and Red thanked us for our prayers, kindness, and for the sombrero's we gave to all three of them.

We met up with a beautiful young latino woman, "J ", awaiting a bus, at the stop. As we greeted her, we found she was an elementary school teacher, and although not a Christian, she did believe in God, and had even attended "christian" churches with some of her friends. Her kindness, openess, and gentle way, drew us even closer. We asked if she would like us to pray for her. She replied, "yes please". We told her she could ask Jesus into her heart, and we led her in that prayer.

Praise the Lord, another soul added to the Kingdom of Heaven! We were able to bless this precious young lady with a bible, and a sombrero!

After finally arriving at the park, we were immediately approached by one of our precious faithful attenders of outreach, Gracie. She rolled up to us, in her wheelchair, and asked "Pastor Paz, please pray for me." (After  months of loving on these folks, and ministering to them, it has been difficult to know which, if any, have actually ever been saved, or "born-again". Although they have attended our outreaches, and patiently listened to us minister, -as well as to other groups who have visited the parks in similar ministry-, responses have been short in coming. When asking the "group", most all say they have Jesus in their hearts. Perhaps this was why the Lord wanted us to scale back this month, and personally "check the fruit".). We approached prayer for Gracie with this in mind, and we asked her, "have you ever asked Jesus into your heart?". Her reply was no, but that she did believe in God. Praise GOD! After a few minutes of ministering to her, we led her her in prayer accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord, and savior!

While we were ministering, and hearing the tummies grumbling, and the questions as to if someone was bringing any food this time, we were moved to compassion and began a head count for pizza's and drinks. We were stopped by a new comer, "R", who said "who are you guys, and why are you doing this?" "Because Jesus Loves you, and we love you too!", was our reply.
When we arrived with the pile of pies, the cheers erupted! (I guess some would've called it the "leaning tower of  'piz'za' ", but they were just happy to have food that day!) The interesting thing was, that having arrived without the food, radio's, clothes, and such, and having told them, there wasn't going to be any food this time, they still received us and responded warmly to the gospel....).

"R", the man who stopped us earlier while taking the head count, was more interested in knowing "why we would care for people we dont know, and go through the time and obviously great expense, to do this"- (perhaps his question was rooted in how it was possible that he had been placed there to witness it...).

As everyone began eating, and "R" talked with us, the conversation came up about the 25,000 children who die of starvation every day in the world, and the 4,000 babies who die from abortion every day in the USA. Upon hearing that, "R", staggered. We noticed that he seemed to be having difficulty, and when asked if he was ok, he turned toward us, and with his big pale blue eyes filled with tears, confessed that 27 years ago, he forced his girlfriend to have an abortion. He said that there hasn't been a day gone by, that every night, and every morning, he has not been haunted and broken over that "act of selfishness". The devil constantly beating him down, and condemning him, and he believed there was no way that God could ever forgive him for what he had done. He said he was a murderer, and the guilt, shame, and condemnation was crushing him. We ministered to him, and what had seemed to be the theme of the day, Romans 5:8, and John 3:16, brought "R", tears streaming down his face,  to a place that he was willing to give it over to the Lord, and be "born-again".  We led him in the prayer of repentance, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior. We left him with a gospel tract, and a certificate of his "new birth". We told him that the next time the devil came slithering around and tried to condemn him, he needed to take out his "birth-certificate of heavenly citizenship", and shove it in the devils face, telling him he is born again, he is forgiven, and he is now the property of God.

"R" smiled, and with his new found confidence and forgiveness, he praised the Lord!!!

There were many other people, and great accounts of how the Lord was magnificent today! His faithfulness,  awesomeness, unfailing love, compassion, and mercy, is why we love to tell the story, because there is just none like HIM! Praise the name of Jesus, to Him who is, and is to come, and who sits on the Throne, be all majesty, and glory forever and ever. amen.

WELCOME! Once again, thanks so much for visiting our newsletter page.  We have so much great news to share with you, and we want to say "thanks" for each and every one of you who prayed for us, those who donated the "food stuffs", the clothing items, the grocery store gift cards, the monetary donations, and for those faithful servants who sacrificed, battling the  100* hot sun, long hours of food preparation, set-up, and "day-of" volunteerism!  Because of you, 120 people were fed, clothed, received sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottles, foam sleeping rolls, (w/carrying straps), work buckets, mini FM stereo mp3 style radios, backpacks, toothbrushes/pastes, deodorants, shaving items, to name a few!  Our menu offered a delicious rice n' bean casserole, with jalapeno's, olives, etc, and grilled hot dogs, as well as our "famous" orange juice/Gatorade mixed drink!  GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

"Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for life."

Many of us have heard this saying. Indeed!  Teaching valuable skills to others, imparting wisdom, or offering advice is something many of us have had the opportunity to be a part of. Isn't it such a fulfilling experience when you see that child choose the right path because  you took a chance and intersected their life? Or you risked a friendship to lead an "intervention", that led the way to a recovery, and probably not only saved your friendship, but their life?

Well, once again, YOU have been a part of making a positive impact in the live's of others......

We have begun receiving the reports, and seeing the "fruit",  that those we have been ministering to have begun showing the signs of "turn-around".  Because of YOU, and your care and support, we have been able to put "fishing poles" in the hands of those who were able and willing to take them up.

Since our last few of months of ministry, the homeless, helpless, and those looking for a way to get involved have taken up their "poles", and gotten busy.

As you have read about in our Easter Outreach, we offered the "work buckets" in our free drawing.
When we returned this month, we found that those who had selected them as their choice of prize,  had been seen around town working! Praise GOD! What a great feeling it is to be able to work, earn money, and support oneself!

Back in February, we met Nicole and Jose. Nicole is pregnant, and both are living on the street. (Can you imagine being pregnant, and sleeping on the hard ground?) Nicole and Jose, who have been faithful attenders of our ministry outreaches, have been deeply touched by your love, support and the kindness, and in desire to draw closer to the Lord, have  inquired about getting married. (Listen to me folks, this is REAL revival! When hearts are touched, and lives are changed, and people draw closer to the Father, in relationship!-  this is what YOU are a part of - your prayers and support is NOT IN VAIN!! thank you, so much!)

Mary and Sam have been blessed by Sam obtaining work as a landscaper, and as a result of all that hard work, they have just become the " NOT HOMELESS ANYMORE ! " (IT'S OK, SHOUT AND PRAISE THE LORD, HE IS WORTHY, AND HE IS DOING MAGNIFICENT THINGS !!!)

Chris, who has been squashed by life, visited us for the first time on Sunday. While talking with him, we shared our desire to obtain some bicycles to give away in our upcoming drawings. Praise the name of JESUS, the  Lord of lords, and the King of kings- Chris used to work on and build bicycles! He has offered to help us refurbish and restore these bikes in the future!! (Tell me, isn't it true that Jesus is a friend that sticks closer than a brother?? Only HE can know how to orchestrate such things!)

Emy, a new Christian, has gotten a hold on the vision. She donated 4 full size garbage bag of clothes, and shoes! Also, several gift bags of women's bath soaps, bubbles, body sprays and lotions. WOW! She had no idea, but this donation didn't stop at the park with the homeless, because after the homeless took what they needed, we were able to donate to some local families. These were some really nice clothes, beautiful dress pants, blouses, sun dresses, etc!!   (Jesus said what you have done to the least, you have done to HIM! Thank you EMY, God bless you!)

One of our faithful volunteers, who has worked tirelessly to support our ministry, by financial donations, prayers, and then, put "feet to her prayers", and has been a faithful "hands-on" volunteer during our ministry outreaches, has experienced and seen first hand, how the the Lord can soften a heart. You see, this awesome lady, who is also a fairly new christian, has a precious, beautiful daughter. But, as we all know, life's circumstances, situations, and the tragedies that sometimes afflict us, have a way of hardening hearts, and obscuring views on life, priorities, and such. WELL, Glory to GOD, after months of hesitation, and resistance, this daughter joined us for outreach on Sunday!!!  (What she doesn't know is, that as I watched her, her love, kindness, and innate ability to flow in serving others, revealed a life breaking free from the darkness and cynicism that the world has used to try and swallow her up. **The LORD Jesus knows your name, and will bless you....)**.

Christine, who has been an integral part of the "behind the scenes" support, has been volunteering her time in administrative duties. (God is able to use our natural giftings and abilities- some pray, some give, and some go- what a blessing for each part of the body of Christ, as we all work together, minister, and make a difference !!). Thank you Christine!

We were also joined by two new families, who volunteered. Dolphina, Burt, Lance and Nikia, as well as Gabriel, Raphael, and their dad too! Some cooked, some served, some (the younger volunteers, helped set up, assembled more work buckets, gave meal tickets, and the drawing tickets too)!

A special thanks to these stores who have been so kind, and generously donated food and store gift cards: please pray that God will bless them and their places of business.

If you are able to shop these local businesses, please be sure to take a moment and tell these managers, THANKS, for selflessly giving back to the community by helping those who cannot return the favor.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! WITH ALL OUR HEARTS. GOD BLESS YOU!

WE HAD 150 VISITORS, AND BECAUSE OF YOUR GENEROSITY, WE WERE ABLE TO SERVE FRESH SCRAMBLED EGGS, HAM, A DELICIOUS HASH BROWN CASSEROLE, CROISSANTS, COFFEE, AND JUICE!!  THERE WAS PLENTY TO GO AROUND, AND EVERYONE ATE THEIR FILL. (WHAT A NICE FEELING IT IS, TO HAVE A FULL STOMACH).  WHAT A BLESSING IT WAS, TO BE ABLE TO SERVE A SECOND HELPING TO ALL WHO WERE STILL HUNGRY.

IT WAS SUCH A PLEASURE TO SERVE OUR NEW FRIENDS, AND WE WANT TO PASS ALONG TO YOU, THAT HARDLY A PERSON PASSED WITHOUT SHARING THEIR THANKS AND APPRECIATION FOR YOU, AND THANKED GOD FOR YOU!  WOW! WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO BE IN, WHEN PEOPLE ARE THANKING GOD, BECAUSE OF, AND, FOR YOU !!!

IT WAS MADE POSSIBLE DUE  TO ALL OF YOU WHO SHARED YOUR TIME IN PRAYER, FINANCIAL DONATIONS- AND SACRIFICE,  AND AN EXTRA SPECIAL THANKS TO FRY'S GROCERY STORE, ON LA CANADA, AND TO THE STORE MANAGER LARRY, THANKS FOR STEPPING UP TO THE CALL. OUR PRAYER'S ARE FOR YOU, AND WE ARE CERTAIN THAT GOD WILL BLESS YOU, AND YOURS, FOR CONSIDERING THE POOR.

(COMPLETE "THANK YOU" LIST FOR OUR PARTNERS,  BELOW...).

THE BRUNCH AREA WAS BUZZING WITH EXCITEMENT, AND ANTICIPATION, FOR THE "SURPRISE" FREE DRAWING THAT WOULD BE FOLLOWING THE BRUNCH.

AS THE GUESTS SIGNED IN, EACH GUEST WAS GIVEN A DRAWING TICKET. AFTER THE BRUNCH, EACH GUEST PUT HALF OF THEIR TICKET IN THE DRAWING BOX, AND ALL THE ITEMS WERE LAID OUT. THE EXCITEMENT WAS THICK, AS 150 ONLOOKERS FOCUSED ON THEIR CHOICE OF THE PRIZES!

AMONG THE FREE DRAWING ITEMS, AND IN RESPONSE TO THE CONTINUING QUESTIONS AND DESIRE TO OBTAIN WORK, BY MANY OF THOSE WHO HAVE ATTENDED OUR PREVIOUS OUTINGS, WE PREPARED "WORK KITS". THESE WORK KITS WERE A VARIETY OF ITEMS, ENABLING THOSE WHO WON THEM, TO GO OUT AND WORK. BY PUTTING THE TOOLS IN THEIR HANDS, SOME WOULD BE ABLE TO GO OUT AND BE MORE SELF-SUFFICIENT, AS WELL AS GIVE A GOOD SHOT OF DIGNITY AND SELF CONFIDENCE, INTO THE ARMS, (AND HEARTS),  OF OUR NEW FRIENDS.
ALSO AVAILABLE WERE MINI DIGITAL FM RADIO'S, SUNGLASSES, NOVELTY SHIRTS, SANDAL'S, LIP BALMS, PROTECTIVE HEAD WEAR, (LIKE TENNIS VISORS, AND SOMBRERO'S), ACCESSORIES FOR BIKES, ETC.....

WELL, ONCE THE DRAWING STARTED, MOST WENT FOR THE RADIOS. HOWEVER, WHEN SOME CHOSE THE WORK BUCKETS, INSTEAD OF THE RADIO'S, THE CROWD BEGAN CLAPPING, AND HOOPIN' IT UP, IN ENCOURAGEMENT AND ADMIRATION FOR THEIR  FRIENDS. ALSO SET OUT WERE A FEW BIBLES, AND IT WAS A PRIVILEGE TO SEE ONE MAN, WHO COULD'VE SELECTED A RADIO, OR A WORK BUCKET, BUT, INSTEAD, HE CHOSE A BIBLE. (THERE WAS AN EXTRA SPECIAL BLESSING INSIDE, BUT HE, NOR ANYONE ELSE KNEW OF IT !!).

ALL IN ALL, WHEN IT WAS OVER, EVERYONE LEFT WITH AT LEAST ONE DRAWING ITEM, AS WELL AS THE UV PROTECTING LIP BALMS.

AFTERWARDS, WE WERE ABLE TO MINISTER TO THOSE WHO DESIRED PRAYER, BIBLES, AND ENCOURAGEMENT THROUGH GOD'S WORD.

WHAT BETTER A REPORT, THAN TO REPORT THAT MANY, WHETHER BY EXPERIENCING THE LOVE OF GOD THROUGH NOURISHING FOOD,  KIND AND LOVING HANDS, SEEING THE FAITHFULNESS OF GOD AND HOW HE DID NOT FORGET THEM, ESPECIALLY ON EASTER, OR EVEN AS ACCEPTING  THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AS LORD AND SAVIOR -RIGHT THERE IN THE PARK-, HEARTS WERE MENDED, LIVES WERE CHANGED, THE HUNGRY WERE FED, AND SOULS BELIEVED ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!!

GLORY TO GOD, FOREVER, AMEN !!

FROM ALL OF US AT MERCY, GRACE AND TRUTH MINISTRIES,
PASTOR PAZ.

Mercy, Grace and Truth Ministries went out to meet our friends, in the Tucson park. A warm, and lazy day, we met some familiar faces, but many more new faces were present.
As we arrived and set up with our coffee and pastries, we circulated and greeted those present.  We greeted and informed our friends of the free coffee and donuts, and we also informed them of a special "treat", which we had planned for later in the day.

Well, as usual, there were not enough donuts, but, there was enough coffee, right down to the last drop. PRAISE! God! It is difficult to know exactly how great the need will be, until we arrive, which is precisely why we arrive first with the coffee, and while we are sharing a cup,  ministering in friendship and counsel, and giving each of our new friends a free drawing ticket, we are assessing the lunch needs. There were approx 25 present for the coffee and donuts, and as we lent our ears and our hearts, we could see the hunger growing- both for the pizza, and the "surprise" free drawing!

After a couple hours, we departed for the pizza's. While supporting the local market, where we purchase the soda's, and sundries, and due to the warmth of the days sun, as well as their, (the homeless), lack of access to hydrating beverages, we purchased 30 quart bottles of Gatorade, at a great price!

While in the plaza, we were able to minister to, and feed, a few more people, and we departed with our pies.... While en'route back to the park, we were talking of "BOB", wondering how he was, and what he was up to, (who last  month shared of his troubles, and having been jumped and beaten, still bearing the bruises, cuts and scrapes), we looked to our left, and there was "BOB"! We pulled around, and cared for him, leaving him with some pizza and a Gatorade.

Upon arriving to the park again, we hadn't noticed that the size of the crowd had nearly doubled. Now,the  people lining up. As some of them quickly offered and assisted in the setting up of tables, others, opened and poured sodas and chips, and others  passed out plates, cups and ices.

As the lined moved through, Candace, our newest volunteer, who was overseeing the pizza distribution, laid out the last of the pies....    a quick glance at the pies, and back to the line, caused me to pray, and ask the Father to stretch the portions, so all could be nourished.

At the end of the line, the last partaker, left two slices. He looked around and asked, "would it be ok to take those last two slices home, because I havn't got anything there...". As we looked around, and before we could answer, one more soul approached us inquiring as to if there was anything else left. We were so thankful, and blessed, that God had indeed! provided for all who were there that day.

After the pizza, we called everyone to come, bringing their free drawing tickets. We handed out more tickets to those who had not received them earlier, and proceeded to hold the drawing. We were giving away an RCA Sport Mp3 player, with FM radio, and some other neat features. Dave, a first timer to our ministry in the park, won the Mp3 player. About a dozen people gathered around him, and checked out his new mp3 player, and they congratulated him, and we were happy for him. Dave was on his way to NM, in seek of work. We blessed him, and sent him off with the love of Jesus, and something to help comfort him while he traveled.
We proceded to raffle off the Gatorades, as we now had many more people than drinks. It was so exciting to our friends, as they gathered and cheered, and each winner took the next ticket.
In the end, there were enough Gatorades for all who wanted one, and the day was such a success! Again, people offering their thanks to us, and blessing the Lord, because people cared enough to reach out and love them.

Some were asking if we had, or knew of, anyone willing to hire them. Many wanted to wash the truck, or help do something to show their gratitude. Willing to work, but unable to obtain it, like so many today. (Like many today, living paycheck to paycheck, a week or two away from  collections, or bankruptcy). It is such a blessing to be able to give, while we have it to give. You just never know when the tide will shift, or the company we work for will close, or some other unforseen event that brings us to financial brokeness.

We are just so thankful that those of you who choose to give, do so, so that those who have not, can be sustained, until the tides shift again.

God bless you, my friends, on behalf of over 40 people this week, who knew that the Lord loved and considered them, because of you.

May the love of God touch and fill your heart,
in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Operation Blessing in the Park went forward, despite the adversity often facing those who are committed to serving others, and the Lord.

At the last minute, the food supply was canceled, leaving the "feeding" of the homeless looking rather bleak, and a shortage of volunteers, added to that challenge.

However, in an effort to keep our word to the Lord, and on behalf of those in need of daily sustenance, we brought donuts and coffee as an appetizer, and followed up with 10 large pizzas, sodas, and Gatorades.

While we enjoyed the coffee and donuts, we shared in fellowship, and getting to know each other. The coffee and10 boxes of donuts disapeared like the sun licks up the morning dew, and you could  still hear the tummies growling.

As the day went, and due to the shortage of volunteers, it was necessary to leave the folks in the park, while "en route" to the pizzas. As could be expected, with travel, and waiting for 10 pizzas to be prepared, it was a good hour and  a half before returning with the pizzas and sodas.

We were not sure if it was the thought of enjoying the slices, or the fact that we "actually" returned, as promised, but the excitement and amazement of our new friends was evident, and it became cemented in our minds, (from the repeated comments  about how so many say they are coming back, but never do), the value of keeping one's word. Because we did,  we won favor in our friends' hearts, and were welcomed to listen, and talk, as we all took turns sharing stories, and "breaking bread" together.

The stories of the hunger, the testimonies of how some got where they were, (people just like you and me), the violence, and such, that some suffer at the hands of others, due to their vulnerabilities, were heart wrenching.

It was overwhelming to see how humble and kind our new friends were. It was amazing to see the love each of these had for one another. We marveled at how they looked out for, and served each other, the compassion they possessed for each other, and the gratitude they expressed to us as we were winding down, - it was humbling.

SO!  Praise God, for HIS provision, and for all of you, who, through your prayers, giving, and compassion, made it possible that we were able to fill the tummies and touch the hearts and lives of nearly 30 people.

When we left, there were 30 more people thanking and praising God, because of you!

Thanks to the LORD, and to YOU!
GOD BLESS YOU,
Mercy, Grace, and Truth.

Mercy, Grace and Truth Ministries went out to the streets of Tucson, AZ, to minister to the hearts, souls and lives of the homeless.

I have been involved in missions, outreach, street evangelism, etc. for nearly 20 years, and I can not remember ever being brought to the point of tears before.  The overwhelming needs, the personal testimonies of the precious folks we ministered to, and the amazing humility and respect we found, as we engaged in community, with these brothers and sisters,( people just like you and me), brought about a sense of true humility in our own lives, and an even greater appreciation for our Heavenly Father, and His love, that we were able to offer something, to someone, in their time of need, and for His mercy, grace and love upon us, as we are on the giving end, this time.

Sunday, January 11th, will forever be engraved upon our hearts and minds, as we remember the many precious souls we were able to touch, and in some small way, ease their suffering. Some of the needs we were able to meet, while others, we were not. Some of the items we were able to supply, this trip were, canned foods, pouches of tuna, nutritional drinks, vitamin waters, (and vitamin water packets), crackers, toothbrushes and toothpastes, foam sleeping rolls, (cuz' even in Arizona in the winter, it still freezes at night..), clothing, (i.e. sweatshirts, jackets, gloves, socks), and other personal care supplies.

Perhaps one of the most heart touching experiences we had that day,  was while ministering a woman, who we will call "Mary", approached us to proposition us. Here is a brief description:

"... including one precious young girl, who, was prostituting herself at a local pharmacy. I was able to give her cold body, and hurting heart, a beautiful new jean jacket. It matched her pants, and She was so moved, I believe, that because I was not interested in exploiting her, but in loving her, that she walked away in shame, and brokenness, (before I could see her cry). I just wanted to hug her. I wanted her to know, she was still beautiful. When I helped her, and I held the jacket for her to slide her arms into the sleeves, I believe she felt like a woman again.".....

Overall, it was a great day in the Lord. We are soo thankful for, and to, all of you who make it possible for us to reach out, and make a difference. You are a blessing, and you will in no way lose YOUR reward.

From all of us at Mercy, Grace and Truth Ministries,
thank you, and God bless you, abundantly!
